Meet Your Doula
Lily Winowiski, Owner
I am a DONA-trained birth doula. I also offer postpartum support services, including lactation and newborn care support, as well as postpartum meal prep. I also support families experiencing miscarriage, anticipated stillbirth and/or fatal fetal anomalies.
I am a mom of two spunky girls. I became passionate about all things pregnancy and birth after my traumatic pregnancy, labor, and postpartum with my first daughter. My goal in becoming a doula was that no one ever feels alone as they navigate their pregnancy and parenthood journey like I did with my first baby. I decided to become a doula after having a doula for my second pregnancy, which revolutionized and redeemed my childbearing experience.
Before becoming a mom, I had worked for domestic violence and community resource shelters, as well as for a foster care and adoption non-profit. So, I have unique experience working both with biological parents who have decided to place their child for adoption and families who have welcomed foster and adoptive children into their homes. After having children, I chose to become a stay-at-home mom and doula.
I hold DONA certificates in birth doula training and childbirth education. I have my bachelor’s degree in public health from Carroll University, where my capstone focused on the prevention of postpartum depression and the improvement of fetal and maternal health outcomes in Native American populations. I also hold certifications in CPR/First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, and QPR.
I believe every woman has the right to a safe and satisfying birth experience. I believe every parent and family deserves compassionate, dedicated, and personalized support when they welcome a new human into the world, and that's what I seek to provide each of my clients. I believe your birth matters. I believe your baby matters. I believe YOU matter.
I look forward to meeting and supporting you!
Your Questions, Answered.
How soon should I book doula services?
Reserving support as soon as possible ensures our availability for your due date, but we welcome and work with last-minute inquiries for support whenever possible. Generally, the sooner you book us, the better we can get to know you and support you. Schedule your FREE inquiry meeting today to learn more!
Is a doula meant to replace my husband or other support people?
No. Doulas serve different roles than your husband or other birth partners. Doulas provide physical, emotional, and informational support based on our professional training and education on pregnancy and labor. Your partner provides unique support we cannot due to the existing depth and intimacy of your relationship!
Can services be paid for by employer reimbursement or flexible spending accounts?
Often yes! Upon request, we are able to issue special, detailed invoices that you can submit to your employer, FSA, or HSA administrator for potential reimbursement. However, we cannot guarantee our services will be reimbursed by your employer. We bill via PayPal Business which accepts FSA/HSA cards.
Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely. Advocate Doula Services bills through PayPal Business, which allows our customers to make installment payments in amounts of their choosing on their own schedule. The minimum payment due within 48 hours of contracting Advocate Doula Services as your doula is 10% of your package price (usually, $95.00).
